Tiger, Not Out of Woods Yet
Following a mysterious car crash on November 27, in which Tiger Woods lost control of his Cadillac Escalade SUV and hit a fire hydrant and tree, Tiger has some questions to answer involving several extramarital affairs. The crash, which occurred at 2:25 am on November 27, came after National Enquirer and Star magazines story emerged accusing Woods of having an affair with the New York nightclub hostess Rachel Uchitel. Uchitel, who lost her husband in the 9/11 World Trade Center attacks, has denied the affair. Since then, stories have surfaced regarding a prenuptial agreement payout to his wife that could reach into the millions.
Suspicions arose after Woods refused to speak with police following the crash and did not offer a formal statement. Although the report was not legally required, he turned police away on several occasions from his gated community in Windermere, Florida. That did not stop photos of the crashed SUV from surfacing and theories arising on explanation that his wife Nordegren had used a golf club to “rescue” an unconscious Woods from the vehicle. The smashed windows in the car and scratches on Woods’ face have led to speculations that, after hearing of the affair, an enraged Nordegren chased him from the mansion and smashed the car with the golf club. After the accident, Woods was cited with careless driving and given a $164 fine.
After the crash, Woods canceled a golf tournament that he was schedule to host on November 30 in Southern California, citing injuries from the accident. His injuries were reported to be minor, however. In a statement released later, it was announced that Woods would not be participating in any other tournaments in 2009. Nordegren is a one-time model from Sweden and had worked as an au pair, along with her twin sister, for Swedish golfer Jesper Parnevik. She met Tiger through golf circles and was introduced at the 2001 British Open. The couple married in 2004 and had their first child, daughter Same Alexis Woods in 2007. Their second child, Charlie Axel Woods, was born in 2009.
