Announcements at CES 2010
The CES show is well underway, and several announcements and product unveiling’s have got the tech world in a overdrive. While some of the new products announced from companies like HP and Dell. Many have already dubbed this event the “Year of the Tablet.”
The Consumer Electronics Show is an annual event typically held in Las Vegas where large tech companies have the opportunity to showcase their куда сходить в Новороссийске latest and greatest inventions to increase the amount of buzz on the product before its actual commercial launch. This event is typically the end all be all for the next year in consumer technology.
CES 2010 has already brought out a number of new products, including the introduction of new commercial PC tablets. When netbooks, stripped down and small scale computers that are designed for bare-bones Internet access, are still hot, and many companies are attempted to capitalize on their popularity by launch tablets, or what many are calling touch screen netbooks. The charge was led by rumors the Apple company, the innovative tech firm that revolutionized the smart phone market with the launch of the iPhone, would be developing a new tablet-style computer around the same dimensions of a netbook. While they have not formally announced it (yet), other computer giants are beating them to the punch by launching their own tablet PCs. Hewlett-Packard, or HP for short, has announced and displayed the prototypes of their tablet PC, known as the Slate. This Windows 7-based computing system has received lack-luster responses from industry insiders, and many are still waiting for the announcement of a more flamboyant piece of hardware.
The other big show stopper at CES 2010, the e-reader. E-readers, like the Amazon Kindle, is a small electronic device owners can download books, magazines, and newspapers to, then read the same way the would the outdated print counter-parts. While the Kindle was the first, many new players are coming out with new features, including light-weight models, flexible devices, color screens, and interactive screens, allowing users to touch the screen to access a multitude of new features. The biggest of the show so far, the Que e-reader. It will offer a larger screen than all other e-readers on the market, color, and free 3G connectivity through AT&T. This Plastic Logic device will hit the market around mid-April with a hefty price tag, $649 for a 4GB model and $799 for an 8GB model.
The tech convention is set to last until January 10, 2010, and many more product announcements are expected before then.
